The Horowhenua team for Saturday is n strong one, viz :—Fullback, Kapene ; three-quarters, Furreo, Winiata, Tahuri ; five-eighth, Wallace; half, Smith; wingforwards, Potts and King ; forwards, Chalk, Smith, McKenzie, Winiata, Devine, Nelson, Bartholomew. Foxton team will be chosen from the following : Backs : Robinson (8). Barker, Mack Royal, J. Dunn; Spiers, Bert Shad bolt, G. Coley, forwards, Joe, Marshall, Robinson, Newth, Hooker, Medpr, Desmond, Jeffries, Reihana, Coley (2), Hanna, Wright, Carter, Williams, Jillett, etc.
The game is timed to star, at 2 80 sharp.
At the racecourse yesterday, the " Booberoosters ” beat the “ Stingarees ”byl4to 6, Mr H. Meder held the whistle, and Messrs Frew and F. Robinson held the touch-flags. Both teams sat down to an appetising dinner at Laing's Hotel in the evening (Mr Frew in the chair), when the usual toasts were honoured.
The Fjxecutive meet at Laing’s Hotel at 8 to-night to transact special business. Results of yesterday’s representative matches :—Manawatu 20, Bush 8; Auckland G, Taranaki 5; Wei lington 11, Hawke’s Bay 8 ; Nelson Combined 12, Australia 8.
