Rifle Club.
A meeting of thcVffoxtoh Rifle Club was held on Thursday evening at Laing’si IJ,6tel, Captain 0. Austin presiding. • It was- resolved that J. Gillespie he awarded 1 ' first prize and C. Rand second in the third cup and and 't-f'nhy competition.. - A former u:solution regarding settlement of ties was rescinded, and it was decided that in the event of a tie the competitors concerned fire the match over again. Messrs A, Laing and Fred Robinson were elected members. A letter is to be forwarded to Colonel Webb urging that the services of the club be accepted tyy the Government. Nominations for the fourth competition for cup, and trophies were fixed to close on 22nd inst, and handicaps will be declared- on the 24th. The' competition has to be completed by September 7th J Ranges will be 200, 300 and 500 yards.
Offers of prizes from Messrs G. Stiles and Langley Bros, were accepted.
