Mr F. Piranihas definitely announced that he will be a candidate for the Palmerston seat at the general elections. Bro. Fox has been absent for a few days in Wellington, but expected to return to-day to Foxton.
Mr M. J. Bell, who has been engaged for some days past in obtaining electors’ names for inclusion in the electoral roll for Manawatu, has already put on about 300 in and around Foxton. Mr Norman Barker, who has been chosen as one of the Manawatu provincial football representatives for the tour through the South Island, did not get away this morning as expected, but will catch the train this evening at Levin, and so join the team in Wellington in time to catch the Pateena, leaving for Lyttelton at 11 o’clock.
