The lecture, which was given under the auspices of tho Foxton Literary and debating Society, was a most instruttive end edoyable one, and it is to be regretted that the public of Foxton as a body manifest so little interest in the work of tlm Society as to practically ignore their _ efforts to improve the mental condition of the town; These lectures are not for Scholar's duly ; they are pre-eminently suited to the powers of the communitv. Those who viiM present will bear me out in saying that it Incurs no great straining of the mental faculties to follow Mr Nott’s lecture throughont.
