Levin-Greatford Railway.
Mr R, 18. McKenzie, of Rongotea, visited Foxton yesterday, and interviewed councillors and citizens, on the subject of the Parliamentary visit in connection with the Levin-Greatford Railway agitation. The Mayor Mr B. G. Gower, was unavoidably absent, but forwarded an apology and stated that any action taken would have his hearty support. Mr G. A. Simpson was voted to the chair, and briefly stated the objects of the meeting. Mr MoKenzie then outlined the position, as stated in the Herald on Tuesday. It was decided that all present form themselves into a committee to promote some form of entertaining the Parliamentarians in Foxton, and a further meeting will be held to-morrow evening. The proposal now is to hold a smoke concert on arrival of the visitors, at which representative men from the adjoining districts will be present and will place their views before the legislators, who are members of the committee which took evidence oq the subject last session.
