With to-day's paper is circulated an inset from Messrs Millar and Giorgi, of Palmerston North, who have a replace advertisement in their usual space. Through the collapse of some scaffolding at a new new building in course of erection in Palmerston on Thursday four persons were injured somewhat seriously. A Taranaki man, who has recently returned from South Africa; informed a local paper that it was no place for a white man, and he strongly advised New Zealanders to keep away from it. The oil-boring operations at New Plymouth have been, it is believed, at last rewarded with success. Yesterday a column of oil-impregnated mud shot up a distance of quite 50 feet out of the bore.
