LAND COMMISSION. MEETINGS of the above Commission will ba held on the dates named in the itinerary of dates and places mentioned below. The Meeting will hear all persons desirous of giving evidence on matters within the terms of the Commission, viz: - The constitution of land boards. The land tenures of the colony. Pressure of residence conditions on Crown tenants. Pressure of other restrictions. Effects of climate and land configuration on tenures and areas held under them and the need for consequent alterations of the land laws or regulations. Homestead privileges and their reinstatement. The workingof the ballot system. The practice of loading lands for roads and its working. Values of leaseholds now and at date of lease. Working of the Advances to Ssttlers system. THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, the Council of the Borough ol Foxton hereby resolves as follows; “ That Gray Street leading from Main Street to Harbour Street shall be stopped, and shall hereafter cease to be a public highway.” And that a special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council shall be held on Monday, 12th June, 1905, to confirm the above Special Order.
