Adelaide, May 6. At the races to-day the ' ioodwood Handicap was won by First Fleece, Footmark second, and Conclusion third. Seventeen started. Won by a head Time, 1 iuin IG-ec Dividend, £B3 11s. By “Chivalry." Toney Messena must have Katerina fairly well at present. The mare’s connections deserve the recent winat Patea and Blenheim, for their perseverance. lam led to understand that “ Toney ” brought back Miss Lancelot with him when he returned last week. Tis said that Maniapoto goes into Prosser’s stable, and that the Soult nag now the solo pioperty of Harry Good. Good judges tell mo that Jenkins’ mount won the Hawke’s Bay Cup with his head on his chest, not being the least exerted. What this horse will win in stakes is mere conjuectnre, but, if he keeps sound, his earnings must go into thousands From what I hear from those likely to know, the black flyer is likely to go to Australia in the spring. At Hawera to-morrow, Maniapoto should have no difficulty in winning the Cup.
