Moutoa Notes.
(From Oar Own Correspondent.) Sportsmen will be pleased to hear that there is every likelihood of its being an exceptionally good season this year for game. Docks are to be seen in great numbers round about the lakes along the rivers and pheasants too are much more numerous than is usual here, while in the eaily morning hundreds of pukaka are to be seen in the paddocks at times. By the way, as the general election is so near at hand perhaps it would be advisable for some steps to be taken m connection with the very much wanted bridge, at the Shannon Ferry. As far as we can judge out here, absolutely nothing has been done towards furthering this scheme by the sitting member. I presume he will shortly be here advocating his re-election so it behoves someone to make a move and take some definite steps in the matter. It may be said that a bridge out here is a far more necessary thing than even the line to the beach; one is principally a matter of pleasure, the other is a very important factor in the development of a fine farming district.
