REFORMS WANTED. RESOLUTIONS FROM CONFERENCES. London, April 13. The Barristers’ Conference dissolved after completing its programme, contemptuously disregarding General Trepoffs repeated summons for it to disperse. The door of the meeting room was shut in the face of a Commissary of Police. A pan - Russian congress of professors, held at St. Petersburg, passed resolutions strongly favouring a democratic constitution and equal representation for all, irrespective of race, creed, or station. MAXIM GORKI. Sr. Petersburg, April 13. Maxim Gorki, the Russian novelist, who was arrested in connection with the disturbances at St. Petersburg on January 22nd, has been permitted to proceed to Yalta (Crimea) to recruit his health.
