Latest telegram says the Premier and party left Tarawera at eight yesterday morning by motor for Napier. The Prince of Wales has been appointed Grand Master of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. Mr C. G. Smith, of Hastings, is making another attempt to-day to lower the cycle record of xShrs xmin from Wellington to Napier. Mrs Newman, wife of *Dr Newman, of Hobson street, returned to Wellington by the Corintbic from a visit to the Old Country. King Edward and Queen Alexandra will visit Copenhagen, to be present at the celebration of King Christian’s eighty-seventh birthday on April Bth. Mr W. Padget Gale, who has been appointed organist at the Napier Cathedral, arrived from England by the Corinthic. Mr Gale was accom panied by Mrs Gala and their two children.
Mr Thos. Wilson has just received notice of bis re-election as a member of the Government Railways Superannuation Fund Board. As recently announced, Mr Wilson has also been re elected to the Railway Appeal Board.
