Cargo—General. 9AlI.Fr>. March 24. —Genic, ns., for Westport. The Himitangi sailed 'from Greymouth at 0.40 p.m. yesterday for Foxton. The Torgauton, which was to have left Wellington at 10 o’clock last night for Foxton, did not get away. The scow Whangaroa was yesterday towed down from Austin’s wharf to the Railway wharf by one of the river steamers, and was towed out to sea by the Queen of the Soulh Ibis afternoon. Considerable progress has been made in cutting a new harbour channel at Nelson, and it is expected for a certainty that an opening for steamers, two hundred feet wide, will be available within six months.
