Physical Culture.
There was a fair attendance at the Public Hall last evening when a lecture was given by Bro. Fox on the benefits of properly applied physical culture. He detailed, in some interesting and well colla'ed remarks, what had been done already to promote the science, both in New Zealand and throughout the world generally, and urged upon thosa present to assist in forming a club in Foxton. It was a matter, he said, aeservingof the warmest support of everyone, for such an institution would be not only a great physical benefit to those who were members, but with the cultivation of a better physical standard there would be a natural improvement morally. The man who was trained in the use of his physical powers learned to control his temper, and the example of this was noted by others, and so a better state of things was engendered. The lecture was listened to with interest throughout. Several musical selections were given during the evening by Messrs W. Walden and J. Johnston.
