The “Kellmanns.”

Th# audience which greeted Kelljnann, the magical wonder, at the Public Hall, last night, though not large, was certainly an appreciative one. That Kellmann is an adept at his business he proved beyond doubt, his quickness of hand deceiving the eye to such an extent that those present must have imagined themselves for the time being under the influence of a hypnotic strain. His trickery was decidedly clever, especially the up-ending of a wineglass full of liquid, which failed to lose even a dreg of its contents. Ordinary playing cards were manipulated in a manner that made many a gambler wish that he also could possess supernatural powers at times. Kellmann dis-entangled himself from ropes in a manner which placed his audience in amazement, and fairly gained the confidence of those present when he filled a tin-pannikin full of silver coins which seemed to float about in mid-air. He was humourous to a degree, and derived no end of mirth from those persons whom he persuaded to go upon the stage for the purpose of detecting his witchery. Finally, the magic marvel fairly brought the house down when he discovered an egg in the beard of a gentleman seated in the body of the hall. Miss Marjorie Atherton, a soprano vocalist of merit, ably assisted by rendering some very pleasing items, notably " Maybe,” which brought forth much applause.
