N.Z. Loan Co.’s Report. Sales have been held at Apiti, Taihape and Palmerston North. There have been good yardings of both sheep and cattle at each centre, but buyers have exercised caution in the face of the continued dry weather, particularly so in the case of cattle. There is still 1 good demand for all classes of sheep, although lambs are a little easier. Prices : Apiti—Sheep; Stores 6s to Bs, fat and forward lambs, ios Bd, aged ewes tisqd to las fid, f.rn. ewes ijs fid to 138 fid, Wethers 15s to ifis. Cattle! Weaners 20s to 30s, store cows £2 ns heifers in calf £2 8s to £2 tos, cows and calves £2 17s fid, 2-year steers £3 2S fid. Palmerston North—Sheep : Store lambs 6s 7d to qs, aged ewes 10s 1 id, fi-tooth ewes ifis, store wethers 15s qd, 2-th ewes (small) 15s. Cattle: Weaners 20s to 23s fid, weaners (extra good) 273 fid to 31s fid, yearlings 36s to £2, 15 mos steers £2 8s to £2, 175, 2-yr steers £3 to £3 fis, 2 to 3| yr steers £3 14s to £4 fis. store cows £2 to £2 10s, fat cows £3 17s fid to £4 17s fid.
