Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, FEB. 25, 1905. Foxton Football
We again point out to Foxton ami district enthusiasts of the winter Ilugbv pastime that they should be on the qui vive. Already the Palmerston North Clubs are holding their annual meetings, which means that the Manawatu Rugby Union will be assembled together before the end of March, Therefore, we hope the different Foxton Clubs will meet immediately and decide upon some definite course of proceeding. We are led to believe that the Oroua Bridge team will throw in their Jot with Foxton should they decide to become affiliated with Manawatu, and this team, together with a team from Porotawhao and two Foxton teams, should make up an interesting contest. Of course, should Foxton not realise the situation, immediately, the Oroua Bridge team will be joining the Manawatu body straight out. Probably Rongotea could be persuaded to re-form their Club and join the Foxton end of the district. That is, provided the different Foxton Clubs decide to become affiliated. Let us hear of the Awahou and Old Boys lubs taking the lead and making a good stand. The others must surely follow. It will be the duty of the different clubs to elect delegates, and these delegates should meet together as soon as possible to consider the true position. It is just as well that each club should understand this. It behoves the Awahou Club, who, we believe, meet next week, to take the cue from us, and write to the other clubs who propose affiliating, for the purpose of calling them together at once.' We hope to hear of such a course being adopted.
