DEMANDS REFUSED.
VENGEANCE THREATENED

The Puttilofl strikers demand the reduction of the hours of labour to eight. The directors refuse to give this concession.
The students in St. Petersburg Visited the graves of the victims of January 22nd. They vowed vengeance, and threatened the Czar.
In consequence, sixteen were arrested.
General Trepoff s dictatorial interference in every department has greatly offended ministers, who have threatened a collective resignation unless the officiousness is modified. The Metropolitan has ordered Father Gapon to appear before the Holy Court within one month to answer the accusation of fomenting disturbances. General Acherkoff, GovernorGeneral of Warsaw, who was wounded in the leg in strike encounters, has died.
