A HUMAN FIEND. NEW YORK, Feb. 1. Johann Hock, of Chicago, has been arrested in New York jor poisoning a dozen out of a score of successive wives. An analysis of the last wife’s stomach revealed poison. Later, Hock had 26 wives. Several declare that he married them and afterwards absconded with their money. AMERICAN DIVORCE. The New York World states the divorces in America from 1869 to 1901 totalled 700,000, while the number, in the next 34 years, at the same rate, will be three millions. PRINCESS VICTORIA. LONDON, Feb. 1. Princess Victoria is sleeping after a restless night. UNIONISTS RETIRE.
