Disastrous Fire in Wellington.

THE D.I.C. COMPLETELY DESTROYED.

About 20 minutes past four this morning a fire was discovered in the D.I.C. building. The flames were first seen about the centre of the building on the top floor. In less than an hour and a half the entire premises from Panama street to Brandon street were entirely gutted. The roof of George and Karsley’s Economic Drapery premises caught, and the Fire Brigade got to work with the hose so that the stock will be greatly damaged.
