New Year’s Day.

AT VICTORIA PARK. The Friendly Societies Sports at Victoria- Park on Monday nest ore sure to be well patronised. Bicycle and running events will be decided. A particularly large crowd is expected from North, and a pleasant time generally is anticipated. RANGITIKEI RACES. The Bulls races will draw a large contingent of Poxton sports. Fields are good and trams run to suit. The following should run well : — _ Flying—Full Cry. Maiden -Trephine. Ohakea Hurdles —Aroha. Carnarvon Hack —St. Amelia. Rangitikei Cup.—Roseal. Hack Hurdles.—Springbok. Makowai Welter Tirole. Pekenui Welter—Daredevil and Waitatapia. OTHER ENJOYMENTS. Boat excursions will be run to the Manawatu Heads, returning in time to catch the Palmerston train. Several private picnics will be held. In the evening the Ganzo Family appear at the Public Hall.
