Musical Examination.
MBS R. GRAY’S PUPILS. The following are the results ot the Practical Examination held af the Foxton centre of the National College of Music, London, pianoforte examinations. Four of the candidates received honours, and one, Miss J. Furrie having gained the highest number of marks (86), has the special distinction of being the local prize winner for the year Intermediate. —Miss J. Furrie, 86, honours. Junior.—Miss Kate Spelman, 85, honours ; Miss Nora Neylon, 88, pass; Mias Mabel Hickson, 78, pass. Primary.—Miss Evelyn Gower, 86, honours; Miss Chrissie Honore, 86, honours; Miss Minnie Walker, 79, pass; Miss Flora Jenkins, 77, pass ; Miss Annie Neylon, 70, pass; Miss Madge Newth, 70, pass; Miss Ada Newth, 61, pass; Miss Mary King, 60 pass. The examiner was Professor Hutton, F.N.0.M., A.Mus., L.C.M. and 0. of the College, and all the candidates were coached by Mrs R. Gray, tbs results reflecting great credit on that lady. Professor Hutton in bis report says that the standard of the work done compares very favourably, if not more so, than the work done at other centres. Professor Hutton 1 proceeded South on Monday and aiet to the College in London to report progress of the work done in New Zealand, which has received a very good start for the first year. The National College of Music, London, was recently founded in the Wait End of London, the patrons being Her Grace the Duchess of Marlborough, Lady Hobart Hampden, Sir Charles Isham, Bart., Madame Patti, Madame Melba and others. The College has made surprising progress in England as over 100 centres have been formed within the last five yeurs,
