The formation of a Rifle Club in Foxton should meet with the hearty support of our readers-, there is a boating club existent in our midst, little interest seems to be taken in that form of exercise this season presumably on account of the boisterous Weather vVe have bdtni experiencing of late months. The result is some other form of recreation will have to be indulged in by our youth, who are eager to in some measure, break the dull monotony surrounding life in Foxton. We understand there are some live enthusiasts round abdWfc I'dMttth) Uud no difficulty should be experienced in forming a strong club on Monday night next. The matter was taken up some months ago, but we hope to be able to report more progress on Tuesday next tiffin when the movement was mooted previously. We have a range already erected close to town, and we understand targets can be secured from the defunct Foxton Rifles. Much good can come from a Rifle Club, and We earnestly hope that the result of Monday’s meeting will be the formation of a sect of rifle-shots in our midst, so that Foxton can at least be represented at one outside Colonial com-petition-—the New Zealand Rifle Association’s gathering at Trentham.
