Sir George Grey’s Tomb.
The bronze plate and marble tablet Which are tb rrUU'k the site of Sir Geo. Grcyk grave in the Crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral are now ready and will shortly be placed in position. The 1 ” bronze measures about 6ft by 3ft, and will coyer the gravC) while the marble tablet h vO be let into the wall close by. The head of the dead statesman, encircled by a wreath, is calved in relief on the bronze, and beneath it is the following inscription " The Right Hon. Sir George Grey, K.C.8., D.C.L., L.L.D., Governor and Premier of New Zealand, Governor of the Cape of Good Hope, Governor of South Australia. Born 14th April, 1812. Died igth Sept., 1898.” The memorial tablet measures three feet by two, and bears this inscription : “To the memory of Sir George Grey, K.C.B-, Governor and Premier of New Zealand, this tablet and bronze are placed by the Government and people of New Zealand.”
