Fielding’s Merry Makers.
Certainly the house which greeted the rising of the curtain at the Public Hall last night-was not com- _ pdnsatipn fov thg, rperit, of the per-“ formance, every itjetp being of high . class. ' Afoqngsf;lHe ! be mentioned yburig Maftin;Huii Jffertbn, a lad of ; early years/ whosesifiging fairly capgfat onv - Carl Colliet c«n. do wonderful things, with * his Banjo, and as a •comedjgnii keeps, his audience amused. The Brandts are clever musickl sketch artists, whilst the everpopular Coon items were left to J, Collins, who knows his business. There are others;,worthy of note, but perhaps Belle Francis’ rendering ol ‘f Queen of the Earth” was the success-pf the evening. Serio-comics were sung by a lady artist, and altogether the show was entirely pleasing, being free from vulgarity of any kind. Encores were numerous and well deserved. The cake-walk by two expert artists was not the least, welcome item of the evening. The company appear again tonight, when there should be a bumper house. A dance wifi be held infnediately afterwards; dt which ladies will be admitted free, ; whilst will be asked to pggt with . modgsr shilling for admission.
