Apostle Dowie Beaten.

(Per s.s. Ventura at Auckland.) SAN FRANGISCO, Oct. 20. John Alexander Dowie, the prophet, was defeated in his fight for the estate of Fred Sutton, a New Zealand sheep-breeder, who died in Chicago in 1902. Sutton went to Zion City, Dowie’s new town, in 1900, and fell under the prophet’s influence. He died two years later, leaving Dowie his entire estate, £II,OOO.
