Hyland’s Circus.
This popular circus family appeared before a large tent full of people lasfe night, and gave a very clever performance, which was greatly appreciated by those present. The horse-training and taming capabilities of both Pro. Hyland and Miss Hyland were distinctly noticeable by the many manoeuvres and tricks the equines performed under their charge. The cream pony Sovereign was shown to effect, and managed to defeat young Prank .Whibley at a game of euchre. The family excelled in tumblinggpnd contortion feats, which freely bespoke their flexibility, whilst J|iss Hyland went through some clever evolutions on the slack wire. The clowns were distinctly funny, and the finale “ A Monkey Steeplechase,” monkeys riding ponies over hurdles -concluded a pleasant evening’s entertainment. All the horses connected with the show bore strong evidence of care and attention, but if Mr Hyland would take our advice he would cater for his country patrons in a more varied style. Too much horse gets sickening, and if he wishes to keep on extracting the “ two bobs,” he will have to change his programme somewhat. Probably this popular circus manager will take the bint !
