A Remarkable Jumper.

T. Colquett, who claims to be the champion high and long jumper of the world, does some remarkable feats in the jumping line ; he is not only a great long and high jumper, but a trick jumper as well. One of the extraordinary tricks he performs is to jump off a brick (said brick on end) over a chain on to another brick (end also) and over a hurdle 6ft 6in high. Another jump is off a brick over a chain on to the soles of his shoes to show that he has been on the man’s face. He also jumps from the ground into a tub of water, which is on top of a 3ft table Oft away, and out again Without wetting more than the soles of his shoes. Another time he substitutes a basket of eggs for the test of water and jumps among the eggs and out again without bi caking an egg. Another remarkable jump is over a four-wheeled landau, the cover, hood, and all. He jumps 12ft in one standing backward jump, and he can jump over ten chairs placed 10ft apart, and finishes up by jumping three horses placed together 10ft away from the last chair. He is open to jump any man in the world at any style of jump. This truly remarkable man will be shortly seen in New Zealand, as Wirth Bros, have engaged him for a season through Australia. He arrived in Adelaide by the White Star steamer Medio on 19th July last, direct from England where he created a furore.
