The Black Family.
Without assuming airs the now celebrated Black Family can claim that their return visit to Fpxton has been pleasurably anticipated by the music loving portion of the community —that means the majority of the public. At a near date this talented troupe will have the pleasure of presenting to their Foxton friends an entirely fresh programme, with one or two old favorite turns that audiences must have. Nor, it may safely be said, will the pleasure be all on one side. It is a great thing for any company of entertainers to be able to claim that they have never disappointed their hearers, that the programme has invariably come up to expectations, and has been considered good measure and vaiue for the entrance money. Yet that is a proud boast of the Blacks which has not yet been challenged. They are musicians to the very tips of their fingers, devoted to their profession, and possessing the ability which comes of long and careful training on top of a natural, ingrained bent of things’ musical. Their performances, too, by reason of their wonderful versatality never fail to hold audiences.
