NEW YORK, Oofc. 12. The Society of Medical Jurispru- f deuce in New York is urging the prosecution of quacks. It is estimated that there are twenty thousand in New York alone. Deceased doctors’ diplomas are, it is stated, frequently sold by auction BERLIN, Oct. 12. A. woman named Elizabeth Wiese, a Hamburg baby-farmer, has been sentenced five times, and to death once, for murder fiendish circumstances. It was proved that some of the infants committed to her care were poisoned and others burned, white some were allowed to grow up in oi’ddr to secure* large sums of money, and were then forced into a life of shame. - MELBOURNE, Oct. 13. A domestic tragedy is Reported from Ballarat. A man named James Rowan quarrelled with Kate Beazley, with whom he was living. The man chased the woman into a street, and killed her with an a xoa Rowan was arres ed.
