Football Concert.
A concert in connection with the Football Union, and in aid of the Band, was held last night in the Public Hall. A large, though somewhat noisy, audience were present, and the Committee expect that the takings will result in the funds of the Band being augmented to a considerable extent. The programme was as follows : Selection by the Foxton Borough Band 3 comic song, Mr R. Hickson (chorus by the Wanderers Club)j song, “Motor Car,” Mrs Currie 3 song, “ When the roses bloom again,” Mr A. Shadbolt 3 song, “ Apart," Mrs Morgan 3 song, “The Song that will live for ever,” Mr A. Harper; song, “Pumpkin Coloured Coon,” Miss E. Webb; song, “ A Day that’s gone by,” Mr May 3 song (selected) Mrs Howorth 3 song, “My daddy’s a gentleman,” Miss A. Currie. After an interval of ten minutes the programme was resumed. Selection by the loxton Borough Band; overture, Miss A, Jenks and Miss M. Barnard 3 song, “Say Au Revoir,” Mr W. Cook, song, “ The Bridge,” Mrs Currie 3 song, “ Baby you’re ray honey,” Miss Webb; song (comic), Mr May; song, | “ I've got a situation, etc.,” Mr J. ; Currie ; song, “A little boy in blue,” i Mr A. Harper; comic song, “ Take I your umbrella with you, John, Master Currie; song, “John Bull’s Letterbag,” Mr May. The meeting terminated by the audience standing and singing the National Anthem. Mr G. Simpson made a very capable j stage manager, while Mrs F. Walls | played the majority of the accompaniments in her usual finished stylo. Special thanks are due to to the committee and the secretaries for the able i manner in which everything was or-1 ganised tad carried out.
