Foxton Borough Council.
A meeting of the Borough Council was held last night at 7.30 o’clock. Present —Crs Gower (chair), Austin, Baker, Coley, Symons and Speira. A letter was read from the Mayor apologising for being unable to attend. Only one tender was received for planting the reserve, that of Mr S. Saville, and It was proposed by Cr Coley, seconded by Or Baker, That the tender for planting the reserve by S. Saville with sand grass be not accepted as price is far too high. Carried. Proposed by Cr Speirs, seconded by Cr Austin, That the price of 22s for planting and 80s for covering with manuka, Lie in the Foxfcon Clerks office to be taken up by any person who in the Town Clerk’s opinion is capable of carrying out the job. Carried. Proposed by Cr Baker, seconded by Cr Austtn, That the Eeaerve Committee visit the Park on Monday next at 2.30 p.m, to inspect the planting done by Mr E. Gray. Carried. The Council then adjourned.
