The Japanese are attacking Liantinsian. .
The whole Russian front, from Tiatse river (north of Laioyang) southwards is engaged, Medical reports published at Tokio state that a de achment-of the 11th Regiment of Siberian Rifles, bn outpost duty on the 19th. mu'dated the Japanese dead and slaughtered the Japanese wounded.
INCIDENTS OF THE WAR. The steamer Valezia left Barry, Wales, with 2,600 tons of steam coal for Las Palmas on the 10th. Latterly the. Germans acquired 70,000 tons of similar coal, and it is now believed that inasmuch as it was consigned to North-west Africa, it is intended to coal the Russian cruisers.
The Smolensk and the St. Petersburg have been acting from the Admiralty’s orders, which were first issued, regardless of Count Lamsdorff. The latter suggested that the British cruisers should act as messengers. It is believed Mr Balfour lias instructed them to insist on the Smolensk and the St. Petersburg’s obedience,
