KIWI v. MOTUITI. These two teams took the field first on Saturday, and after a fast and wellcontested game ended in a victory for Kiwi by 14 points to nil. Tries were scored for the winners by Robinson, Paki, and Broad. W. Kiriona had charge of the whistle. AWAHOU v. HUIA. This match was far more interesting and proved a really interesting tussle. Soon after the commencement of the game Tatana potted a goal. This was the only score during the first spell. On play resuming, Shadbolt kicked a penalty goal in the first five minutes. Both teams were now playing for all they were worth to avoid defeat, but later on in the game Huias crossed Awahou’s line and registered a try. The kick at goal failed to increase the points, and the game ended Huia 7 Awahou 3. Mr J. Frew made an efficient referee.

On Saturday evening Mr Geo. Coley entertained the Awahou and Huia teams at dinner at Host Levett’s. At 6 o'clock about 40 sat down to a well-provided spread, and after the good things had been done full justice to, the health ofMrColey was proposed, and drunk with enthusiasm. Mr Coley was also the recipient of some complimentary speeches. He was also thanked for the very great interest he had taken in football this season, and had helped in every way to push along the game. Mr Coley suitably replied. The health ot the four teams competing for the banner were proposed, and responded to by their captains. A very successful and enjoyable evening was brought to a close with three ringing cheers being given for Mr Coley and Mr Levett. The Old Boys and Wanderers again try conclusions to morrow afternoon on the racecourse, and by the way both teams have been practising a really interesting game can be looked forward to. The match will commence at 3 o’clock sharp, and a small charge of sixpence will be made at the gate.
