Wellington Wool and Skin Sales.
Messrs Levin & Co’s Report. We offered to-day 65 bales wool, 2000 skins, 200 hides, and a quantity of tallow. Crntcbings were in strong demand and sold at extreme prices. Superior crossbred crntcbings reached 6£d to 6fd. Medium crutchings 6d to 6Jcl, and inferior to medium from 5d to Gd. Skins sold firmly at the advance recorded at last sale. We quote : Merinos, 64-d to 7d ; halfbreds, 6Jd to 7d ; fine crossbreds, 6Jd to 7d ; coarse, 6}d to 6fd ; short wools, s|d to 6d ; dead, 4d to 5d ; butchers’ green, 5s to 5s 7d each. Hides. —Advices from all other centres advise a fall and this was so at the sale to-day, prices being lower. Cows; 401bs to 601bs, 15s 6d to 16s 8d ; 501bs to 601bs, 16s 6d to 17s Gd ; heavier up to 18s 9d, Ox: 651bs, 22s 6d ; 701bs, 25s to 26s 6d ; 801bs, 28s to 81s, Tallow : Rough fat, 15s to 15s 9d ; tallow, 20s 9d.
