Taylor-Carrington Company.

The above company who play here to-night and Monday night, have just completed a three months’ tour through Canterbury and Otago, meeting with a hearty reception everywhere. We reprint the following extract from the “ Geraldine Guardian ’’: —The Premier’s Reception Committee at Geraldine hit upon a vcy happy way of concluding the “ day’s doings ” of their distinguished visitor on the occasion of his late visit to that town. Instead of the usual dinner with its dry as-dust speeches to follow, the committee arranged for Mr Seddon to visit the Volunteer Hall in the evening and witness the Taylor-Carrington Company’s performance of “ Colleen Bawn.” That the Premier appreciated this departure from the conventional was evidenced by his hearty enjoyment of the efforts of Miss Carrington, Mr Taylor, and their excellent company in support.” The company produce this beautiful Irish play on the opening night of their season here, and on Monday they produce the famous Drury Lane drama “ Justice at Last,” with all the original scenery and effects. Mr Taylor will appear in the character of “ Isaacs the Jew,” an impersona tion for which he has made himself famous in every large city of Australia and India. Miss Carrington sustains the role of the “ Blind Mother ” who sacrifices herself to save her child.
