Foxlon Borough Council.
The adjourned meeting of the above was held at the Library Buildings last night at 8 o’clock. Present—His Worship the Mayor and Crs Gower, Symons, Stiles, Speirs and Overend. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Baker, That the Mayor be appointed a delegate to the Municipal Conference. Carried, Proposed by Cr Gower, seconded by Cr Stiles, That the clerk write the Department re Marine Reserve advising them to call fresh tender* for the fence m the local paper, and advise them to get permission from the Marine Department to split posts on the beach. Crrried, Proposed by Cr Gower, seconded by Cr Symons, That the Pound board be re-painted, and that the clerk get prices from the local painters. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Gower, That all monies accruing from reserves be placed in one general reserve fund, and Councils shall have the option of expending all such funds on any reserve where most required. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Stiles, That the clerk write to Mr Rounthwaite as to terms for his services in connection with a water scheme. Carried. Proposed by Cr Stiles, seconded by the Mayor, That a return be laid upon the table at the next general meeting giving in detail the cost of forming and metalling the streets under the recent loan proposals, and also giving the amounts apportioned to the various streets with a view to allotting any balance. Carried. Proposed by Cr Gower, seconded by Cr Stiles, That the work proposed in overseer’s report be referred to the Public Works Committee before being gone on with. Carried. Proposed by Cr Symons, seconded by Gr Overend, That the Council cannot accede to Mr F. Petersen’s request re No. 2 Line drain, as the weather may probably take up in a short time and enable him to proceed with the work. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Gower, That the clerk return the empty barrels and get them refilled with tar, Caaried. , Colds ara quickly cured by Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. It acts on nature’s plan, loosens the cough, reiioves the lungs and opens the secretions, effecting a permanent cure. It counteracts any tendenoy of a co'd to result in pneumonia.
