The Daily Chronicle announces that General Oko marched s bre * divisions to co-operate with General Kuroki, and defeated the Russians a* Wafangtien with great loss. The artillery was splendidly handled. Advices have been received at Shanhaikwan that the Russians were overtaken and seriously defeated southwards of Liaoyang. General Kuroki, in an army order, exhorts the troops to treat the Chinese kindly and remember they are fighting an enemy in a country of friends. RUSSIAN LEADERS AT VARIANOE. PORT ARTHUR FLEET ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN BLOWN UP. General Kuropatkin, resenting Admiral Alexieffs attempts to impose his plan of operations, telegraphed to the Czar that it was impossible to accept responsibility without a ff6B hand. Admiral Togo reports that since the sixth many unexpected explosions have occurred in Port Arthur. The impression is that the Russians, despairing of its defence, are destroying the ships preparatory to its evacuation. It is reported at Ohifu that the Russians have destroyed their fleet at Port Arthur.
