Mmawatu and West Coast A. and P. Winter Show. The Winter Show and Poultry Exhibition of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association will be held on the 21st, 22ud, 23rd, and 24th of next month at Palmerston North, as will be seen on reference to our advertising columns. Liberal provision has been made in the prize list for farmers—butter, haras, pork, bacon, fruit, vegetables and farm roots, seed and grain and pot plants. In the Poultry, Pigeon and Canary division, some 220 classes are provided. The cash prizes ranging from 5s for one entry to 80s for 14 entries, as well as £25 in special prizes to be won straight out. Two North Island Championships will be awarded to Golden Wyandotfces and Haraburghs (excepting Black.) Judges for Poultry are Mr J Rose, Dunedin, for heavy breeds, and Mr F. Dacre, Linwood, Christchurch, for light breeds; and Mr W. B. Mckenzie for Pigeons, and Mr F. E. Cooper, of Wellington, for Canaries In connection with the Poultry division it may be mentioned that something like £7O worth of poultry was sold last year. Entries close on June 9th with the Secretary of the A. & P. Association, Post Office Box 85, Palmerston North. A STARTLI NG VERDICT.
