Macdermott’s Biograph Entertainment.
The above Company opened to a acked house last night, and no doubt they have a bright and compact little show. The pictures were all fine nd clear and wonderfully steady, and the absence of the usual flicker which most machines have, made the. show.more enjoyab e. Pictures were shown of Port Arthur, giving good views of the batteries, store bouses and disappearing guns, and shows plainly the lay of the country Russian troops were shown, also charges of Russian cavalry, dragoons, cossaoks, &o. Then, soma views of Japan, showing family life in the country, a street scene in Tokio, a combat between eight Japs, in which the Japs seem to be pretty smart customers In the miscellaneous set perhaps the best were, a penny in the slot, waves breaking on the rooks, the photo episode, a game of ping pong, the wrestlers, and the man who swallowed the camera. All these are worked up by effects, and make the scenes very realistic. These are a few of the numerous pictures that were presented last night. The stage was managed by Delno Fritz, who is a capable lecturer and made a big hit with his ventriloquist turn. The display was much above the average, each of his puppets had its own appropriate voice and manner and his unspeakable Scot “ Sandy,” had the characteristic l< burr " of the Highlander. The Biograph was in the hands of Mr Macdermott, junr. A few items were given on the latest improved phonograph, which were real good. This is no doubt the best machine that has been in the district. The entertainment is both instructive and enjoyable, and reflects great credit on the manager, Mr Macdermott, senr., and the company will be always well supported in Foxfcon. The company are play-to-night and Wednesday night in Pftliqerslpg Nth*
