Election of Committee.

FOXTON SCHOOL. The annual meeting of householders was held in the schoolroom on Monday night last at 8 o’clock. There was a fair attendance, Mr A. D. Clemett in the chair. The outgoing committee’s report and balance sheet for the past year was read. The credit balance in hand was £7 13s 2d. Proposed by ,Vlr Noonan, seconded by Mr Walker, That the reports for financial year as read be adopted. Carried. Proposed by Mr Noonan, seconded by Mr Speirs, That the householders approve of the retiring committee’s suggestion to endeavor to form a new Educational District, and that the householders desire the school committees between Otaki and Marton to unite with Foxton in an effort to form a new Educational District between the given towns with a centre at Palmerston, and that the new committee when elected be asked to do their best to pro* mote this matter. Carried. Proposed by Mr Jenks, seconded by Mr Coley, That the householders support the proposed superannuation fund legislation as suggested Carried.

A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman and retiring committee for past services Jor the year was carried. The election of a new committee was next proceeded with. Fifteen were nominated, and on a ballot being taken, the chairman declared the following nine elected : Messrs A. D. riemett, S. H. Baker, F. E, Jenks, H. Bradcock, G. ( oley, C. L. Barnard, G. A, Simpson, H. Austin and Rev H. F, Wilson. The meeting then adjourned with fl vote o£ thanks to the chair,

COMMITTEE MEETING. The newly-elected committee then met and Mr Clemett was unanimously re-appointed chairman, and Mr 9. H. Baker was likewise reelected secretary, a vote of thanks being accorded him for services rendered. Proposed by Mr Coley, seconded "by Mr Bradcock, That the chairman and secretary sign cheques. Carried. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Spelman and Coley for donate oos of wood and coal. It was decided that the monthly meetings be held on the Ist Wednesday in each month at 7.30 p.m. during the winter months.
