Football.

On Saturday a football match was played on the local school ground between the Sanson and Foxton School teams. The visiting boys played with more dash than the local boys, and scored a well deserved win by 6 points to nil. All the scoring was done in the first spell. In the second spell the Foxton boys clearly showed that they bad learned a lesson from their opponents and played with much more dash and vigour. A return match is to be played shortly when an interesting game should eventuate, as the Foxton boys are determined to turn the tables and are practising assiduously. After the game the visitors were entertained to refreshments in the school, after which the two teams mingled sociably and the best of good fellowship was shown by the boys toward each other.
