Foxton Athletic Club.

A Committee meeting of. the Foxton Athletic Club was held at Mr Laing’s Family Hotel last night. There were present Mr'A. D. domett (vice-president), in the chair, and Messrs W. Cook, A. Shadbolt. E. Healey, F. Martin, R. Baker, B. Dunn, L. Wilson and ‘the secretary (E. E. Smith.) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, after which the chairman said that the meeting had been called to discuss what amount the Chib would be agreeable to spend on improving the cycle track in Victoria Park. After a general discussion on the question, in which it was pointed out that if the Club desired to prosper, and entice the best cyclists to attend their gatherings, an alteration to the track was absolutely required by enlarging before their next annual fixture in November. It was proposed by Mr E. Smith, seconded by Mr L Wilson, That the Club spend the sum of £3O on the cycle track in Victoria Park subject to the Foxton Borough Council’s approval. Carried. Mr Clemett proposed, and Mr Baker seconded, That a committee, consisting of Messrs J. Symons, Shadbolt, Martin and the secretary visit the Park and get the opinion of two or three and see what is really necessary before anything is definitely decided, and also that the committee be empowered to engage Mr Alzdorf to measure the ground and give an estimate of the cost. Carried. A vote of thanks to the chair, and to Mr Laing for the use of the room, conSlqded the meeting,
