A Mysterious Death.

Stanley McLeod Smith, 18 years of age, and employed as office boy and messenger by the Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Christchurch, was found about 10 o’clock on Tuesday morning in a yard at the back of the office, unconscious, with a bullet wound in the forehead. The revolver was found beside him, two chambers having been discharged The lad was removed to the hospital, Letters found on him indicate that he premeditated self-destruction, and also show the cause of the rash act, although the police authorities decline to state what the cause is. It is understood Smith is of a romantic turn of mind, and it is said he had been worrying over love matters.
