The Perils of the Sea.

The Auckland cutter Zily, which was picked up near Suva on February 27th, had a perilous experience. According to news per Hauroto she left Auckland on January 27th, and soon after Captain Sopwith became ill. The crew, consisting of two seamen, wore unable to navigate the cutter, which, for many days, drifted in strange waters close to dangerous reefs. To make matters worse, provisions ran short. The sailors several times attempted to effect a landing on unknown shores, but failed owing to dangerous reefs. On February lltb they spoke 1 a cutter and wore surprised to learn they had reached Fiji, being bound for Samoa. The cutter was taken to Suva by Captain Callaghan.
