MANAWATU v. HAWKE’S BAY.
A polo match between Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay was played at Stortford Lodge (Hastings) on Saturday, when the home team won by 8 goals to 8. The teams were as follows
Manawatu.—-W. Strang, A. Strang, M’Donell and Oswald Johnston.
Hawke’s Bay.—MT{en2ie(2), Nel son and Ormond.
Manawatu were without J. Strang aud 0. Robinson, the latter having given up the game, and so had two now men in their tpam in M’Donell and Johnston. Hawke’s Bay were without the services of Harold Russell, and in his place took in F, M’Kenaiie. The first three spells of the game were very fast, and Hawke’s Bay had the best of it all through. They have reason to be congratulated on their success, as Manawatu have beaten Rangitikei this Season. The two Strangs played very finely for the visitors, and F. M’Kenzie and Nelson did excellent service for Hawke’s Bay. The return match took place aj Sfcortford Lodge yesterday afternoon.
