Woods-Williamson Dramatic Company.

‘ HANDS ACROSS THE SEA ”

TO-NIGHT,

Playgoers will be pleased to learn that the above clever combination will pay us a visit at the Public Hall to-night, when they will present for the first time here Henry Pettitt’s world-famed Drury Lane nautical drama, “ Hands Across the Sea.” Since their first appearance in the colony the company has had a triumphant tour of the South, and the press and public are alike unanimous iu their praises of the merits of the organisation. “ Hands Across the Sea,” wherever produced, has proved the trump card of the tour, and throughout the Commonwealth States Mr Alfred Woods has played the part of Jack Dudley considerably over one thousand times, earning for himself laudatory praise, while Miss Maud Williamson was the creator of of the part of Lilian Melford at the Adelphi Theatre, London. The costly costumes, beautiful stage pictures and mechanical attributes in this bright and breezy drama make it surpass by far any dramatic production ever witnessed here. Special attention is drawn to the wonderful picturesque scenes, depicting harvesting time on a Devonshire farm, the Parisian gambling saloon, the interior of the French prison, the s s. Australasian in mid-ocean and her arrival at Circular Quay, Sydney Harbour. As the prices are fixed at 3s, 2s and Is a bumper house should greet this celebrated combination.
