A Downfall.
The friends of Sloan, the once famous American jockey, who was born and reared in Kokoma, Indiana, have received word that ho is financially embaressed in Paris, and is working as chauffer for a French autmobile firm. His salary is said to be less than what he spent two years ago in a day. Tod Sloaue’s fall in two years has been great. When he travelled across the Continent in special trains, spent several days with foster parents and friends In Kokoma, carried friends in a special train to the Piockies, and entertained them on hunting trips, his expenses were £220 a day. At that time his wealth was said to be £IOO,OOO, and his income £16,000 a year. Sloan’s star fell when he was ruled off the English track Later he thought he could break the bank at Monte Carlo, with the usual result.
