A Lady’s Dress.
Clark, assistant purser of the s.s. Manuka, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington on Thursday with bringing ashore an uncustomed article, to wit; a lady’s dress. He was observed to be carrying a parcel, which was addressed to the manager of the Union Company, at New Plymouth, and declared he did not know its contents, having been instructed by the purser to leave it at the wharf office of the company. The Magistrate dismissed the case.
