The Foxton Racing Club were favoured with glorious weather for their annual fixture, which took place Friday and Saturday last. As anticipated, the meeting proved to be a record one, both in attendance, and the amount put through the totalisator. The secretary (Mr J, R. Whyte), and the other officials worked hard to make the gathering so successful, and the privileges which the Club this year retained will add considerably to the Club’s profit. Messrs Neylon and Spriggens worked the totalisators, and put through the machines for the two days a total of £13,299, as against £12,865 for last year. The raping on both days was most interesting, and some splendid finishes were seem the result of MrJ. Henry’s capable adjustments. The Palmerston North Municipal Band played on the lawn fronting the grandstand, and their music was much enjoyed. Messrs Langley Bros, had a busy time in their luncheon room, and their patrons spoke of the excellence of the bill-of-fare provided. Mr T. Cameron was sue* cessful in getting his fields off together, and the judging of Mr Hugh Gillies was not called into question. Pro. tests and accidents were conspicuous by their absence, and the Club can be congratulated on having such a successful meeting. Following are the results
