Wedding.
BIRCH-HOWAN.
A quiet, but' pretty wedding was celebrated last Wednesday at Mr S. Howan’s residence, Wellington, when his fourth daughter, Emma, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr Frank Birch, of Wellington, by the Rev. Oliver. The bride, who looked charming in whits silk, trimmed with Jaco and ribbon, with the usual veil and wreath of orange blossoms, was attended by her sister, Miss Ethel Howan, apd Miss Belle Birch, sister of the bridegroom.. The former wore white silk lustre, and the latter white cashmere %ith chiffon trimming. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a gold watch and chain, while the bridesmaids received greenstone brooches. After partaking of afternoon tea and the bridegrsom responding to the usual speeches, the happy oduple left amid showers of rice for their future home. The bride's travelling dress was navy blue cloth trimmed with glasae silk, with hat to match. The .presents were numerous and costly.
